Here are some tips on how you can do that:

• Be sure to obtain a burning permit for standing dead grass
• Burn only when the burn permit stiulates as best times
• Do not burn rubbish, other wood or paper products
• Be sure to have enough adults and equipment available to safely carry out the burn
• Contact the fire department prior to lighting the fire
• Keep the fire small and manageable
• Do not allow young chidren to play in the area of the burn
